WHITE ADDED AS AMBASSADOR
The Matt Hampson Foundation is delighted to announce British and Irish Lions scrum-half Ben White as a new ambassador for the charity which supports young people seriously injured in sport.
White took a similar route into professional rugby as Foundation creator Matt Hampson, joining the Leicester Tigers academy from his local junior club and then progressing to the senior ranks. He made his Premiership debut for Leicester as a 17-year-old and captained England at Under-20s level.
After moving to London Irish in 2021, White joined French club Toulon two years later and now has 29 senior caps for Scotland.
He was called up to the Lions squad as an injury replacement during the triumphant tour to Australia this summer, joining fellow Foundation ambassador Ollie Chessum in the squad, and made the first of three appearances in the fixture against the NSW Waratahs.
In announcing White’s appointment as an ambassador, Matt Hampson OBE said: “Ben has been a good friend of the Foundation for a long time and has always been very supportive
“We were thrilled to see him called up by the Lions this summer and we look forward to his involvement with the Foundation in the years to come.”
You can own a piece of rugby history – including signed squad items from the victorious 2025 Lions – in the Foundation’s fundraising online auction.
