WASPS GOLF GRANT IN AID OF FOUNDATION
The Matt Hampson Foundation has been selected for support at the Wasps Legends Rugby Golf Classic in La Manga this summer.
The Wasps Legends Event Grant will go towards a Body Weight Support system at the Foundation’s Get Busy Living Centre to assist work with beneficiaries with spinal injuries.
The system supports the upper half of the body while reducing bodyweight during standing and walking exercise. It also allows practice of sit-to-stand movements, walking up and down steps and running, and can be used to assist with strength, mobility, balance and transfer work which aids a beneficiary’s independence.
The Wasps Legends Charitable Foundation was founded in 2012 with the aim of giving back to its community through fundraising at its events.
In announcing its support, Wasps Legends said: “The Matt Hampson Foundation are hugely deserving recipients of this grant and we look forward to seeing them continue their exceptional work, changing young people’s lives.”
The Rugby Golf Classic is hosted at the La Manga Club resort in Spain from Thursday 5th June to Sunday 8th June with a two-day golf tournament raising funds for charitable projects close to the heart of the rugby community. This event is now in its eighth year with total fundraising topping £700,000 since its inception.
