TAYLOR HONOURED BY HIS PEER GROUP

Beneficiaries of the Matt Hampson Foundation have chosen Taylor Gough as their award winner for 2023.

The Henry Love award, named after another popular member of the Foundation’s community, is given to the Beneficiaries’ Beneficiary, with Taylor recognised as a great team member, someone who wants to support others, makes an impression on the lives of others and is a great role model.

A Leicester Tigers academy graduate who was at the beginning of his professional rugby career when he experienced life-changing injury, Taylor is a regular part of the community at the Foundation’s Get Busy Living Centre, has played wheelchair rugby for the all-conquering Tigers team and also taken up para-canoeing.

Identified as a visitor who can “lift everybody’s mood” and offer advice and support to others, Taylor received his accolade at the annual Get Busy Living Awards, hosted by the Tigers at Mattioli Woods Welford Road.

Tommy Cawston, Foundation chief executive, said: “Taylor has overcome so much, he is a huge part of what we do and we couldn’t be prouder of him.

“Henry was a much-loved member of the Foundation and it will mean a lot to Taylor that he has won the award because he was close to him. I know Henry will be very proud of him.”
