SUTTY NAMED ON AWARDS SHORTLIST

Personal trainer Sutty has been shortlisted in the British Fitness Awards for his work with Matt Hampson Foundation beneficiaries.

The awards showcase talent and dedication within the fitness community and are now in their 17th year. Sutty is selected among the finalists in the Outstanding Achievement category.

Sutty was a plumber and club rugby player in his 20s when he was diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder, Dystonia, which impacts speech and muscle movement. Unable to return to his previous trade, he retrained as a personal trainer and joined the team at the Foundation which supports and inspires young people following life-changing injury in sport.

Representing

Working with beneficiaries, he has become the ‘heart and soul’ of the Foundation’s Get Busy Living Centre near Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire.

Sutty has also completed numerous physical challenge events including ultra marathons to raise funds and awareness of the Foundation’s work alongside helping beneficiaries in their own efforts, completing the London Marathon as a support runner and as part of the team who pushed Matt himself as he completed his ‘Everest’ at the 2026 event.

“I am incredibly proud to represent the Foundation and everything we stand for,” he said. “To be even recognised and named as finalist means so much.”

Honoured

Sutty has built a huge social media audience while raising awareness of Dystonia, disability, fitness and his work with the Matt Hampson Foundation in supporting its beneficiaries to ‘get busy living’ again following life-changing injury.

He has previously appeared in the Shaw Trust Disability Power 100 as well as being named in the top 10 of its sport, health and wellbeing section, while also being honoured at the National Diversity Awards and receiving other recognition in the industry.
