SURPRISE VISITOR ALL THE WAY FROM SAMOA
Samoan beneficiary Ben made a special trip to the Get Busy Living Centre during the Rugby World Cup.
Ben has been a friend of the Foundation for many years since his injury as a young rugby player, and he made a surprise trip to France to meet Matt as Samoa faced England in the opening stages of the tournament before continuing his trip by visiting the Centre.
Accompanied by his uncle Soma and joined by former international player Freddie Tuilagi, they must have thought they were going to witness a famous victory too as Samoa led 17-8 in Lille before England fought their way back to win by a single point with a late converted try.
On a rare trip outside his home in Samoa, Ben stayed in the lodges at the Centre and was invited to watch Leicester Tigers in training at the club’s Mattioli Woods Welford Road ground before returning with Matt a day later for the Premiership Cup fixture against Sale Sharks.
“Special thanks to everyone on the team,” he said after the long flight home to Samoa.
