HELP US TO HELP OTHERS WITH YOUR LONDON ENTRY
If you’ve been lucky enough to secure a ballot space in the 2027 Double TCS London Marathon, we would love you to join Team Hambo and raise funds to support young people following life-changing injury in sport.
The Matt Hampson Foundation provides specialist physiotherapy, personal training, counselling, wellbeing and mentorship at its Get Busy Living Centre to help beneficiaries to develop the skills and confidence to adapt to their new life after serious injury or plan a return to work, education or sport.
Matt Hampson was a 20-year-old professional rugby player when injury resulted in him being paralysed from the neck down and breathing through a ventilator. But rather than lament what he had lost, he vowed to focus on what he could still do and to ‘get busy living’, showing that injury does not have to be an obstacle to ambition and opportunity or helping others achieve their potential.
Matt created the Foundation in response to the support he received from the sporting world and beyond after his accident, and his charity has now helped hundreds of beneficiaries as well as their family and friends.

In 2026, Matt completed the TCS London Marathon with a team of support runners to raise awareness of the Foundation and fundraise towards the extension of facilities at the Centre near Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire to enable his charity to change the lives of even more young people.
