STARS ALIGN TO SUPPORT A TRIO OF CHARITIES
Battersea Evolution hosted heroes of rugby for an event in support of the Matt Hampson Foundation, Ed Slater and the Heartburn UK cancer charity.
World Cup winners Martin Johnson, Martin Corry and Lawrence Dallaglio; England’s most-capped man Ben Youngs; and internationals Keith Wood, Geordan Murphy, Austin Healey, Alex Goode and Freddie Tuilagi were among the guests for an evening of entertainment.
Billy Twelvetrees and Fraser Balmain both spoke warmly about Ed – a former team-mate with Leicester Tigers and Gloucester – as well as his fight with MND and support for charity.
Guests enjoyed live music along with dancers and acrobats, as well as supporting a successful fund-raising auction and raffle which kicked off the countdown to Christmas.
There was even a birthday cake presentation to Matt!
