RUGBY FAMILY SHOWS ITS STRENGTH AT FOUNDATION’S ANNUAL DINNER
More than 1,000 guests supported the Matt Hampson Foundation’s annual rugby dinner during a spectacular evening at Evolution London.
As one of the Foundation’s major fundraising events of the year, Matt was joined by rugby favourites including World Cup winners Jason Robinson and Mike Tindall, All Blacks legend Zinzan Brooke and fellow internationals Martin Castrogiovanni, Benjamin Kayser, Bryan Redpath, Victor Ubogu and Toby Flood.
As an official charity partner of the British & Irish Lions in this tour year, the Foundation was also delighted to welcome Lions caps including Rory Best, Tom Croft, Martin Corry, Ben Kay, Geordan Murphy and Shane Horgan as well as representatives of the current Premiership Rugby clubs and international referee Wayne Barnes.
Former England international David Flatman hosted the evening, with Jonny Gould conducting the fundraising auction and singer Laura Wright kicking off the evening’s entertainment which also featured a question-and-answer session with rugby internationals Tindall, Best, Kayser and former Wales fly-half Nicky Robinson.
Martin Castrogiovanni, a legend with Leicester Tigers and in more than 100 caps for Italy, said: “There is one reason everyone is here and that is Matt.
“He is a guy with a massive heart and just watching him inspires you. Thank you Matt.”
