PILATES PROGRAMME ADDED TO OPTIONS AT GET BUSY LIVING CENTRE
Neuro pilates sessions have been added to the rehabilitation services available through the Matt Hampson Foundation at its Get Busy Living Centre.
Led by Josie, our head of rehabilitation, sessions aim to improve movement, strength and posture, and are specifically focused on mind-body connection and activation of core muscles, making this programme especially suitable for beneficiaries with spinal injury and neurological conditions.
Exercises are modified to focus on individual abilities and therefore allow full participation in the class no matter the physical impairment, using floor mats and equipment including soft balls and resistance bands to enhance exercises by either assisting a movement or increasing the challenge.
Sessions currently run on Mondays (1.00pm) at the Get Busy Living Centre.
The rehabilitation programme also includes yoga, led by instructor Paige, with sessions exploring breath control, meditation and movement through adaptive exercise, designed for individual needs with one-to-one and group work available.
