PAIGE BACK ON TRACK AS FRAME RUNNER

Paige Murray, adaptive yoga teacher at the Matt Hampson Foundation, has returned to international competition at the World Para Athletics Grand Prix in Switzerland.

Paige is a former world-ranked wheelchair racer and is now competing as a frame runner.

She was part of a nine-strong England team for a three-day competition in Nottwil in Switzerland which included frame runners for the first time, claiming second place in the 100 metres and also competing over 200 metres.

Frame funning was first recognised by World Para Athletics as an official track discipline in 2017, with the wheeled frame aiding an athlete’s balance. Frames feature a support saddle, body support plate, handlebars and three wheels but no gears. The sport is scheduled to make its Paralympic Games debut in Los Angeles in 2028.
