NOAH CONCLUDES AN IMPRESSIVE RACE SEASON WITH PODIUM PLACE

Noah Cosby enjoyed a successful conclusion to his motorsport season with a podium place on his British Endurance Championship debut.

Matt Hampson Foundation beneficiary Noah earned a drive in Team Brit’s 200mph McLaren GT4 as reward for a strong campaign in the Britcar Championship in which he secured second place in the season-long rankings.

He made the most of the opportunity, too, with a third-place category finish alongside co-driver and former superbike racer Takuma Aoki from Japan, and fifth overall in the GT4. On a big day for the team, their other McLaren finished second in class with Paul Fullick and Aaron Morgan, another driver with links to the Foundation, at the wheel.

“It was a very special feeling to get a placing after coming into the championship for the first time,” said 20-year-old Noah who has been supported by Motability’s sponsorship during the season and is part of the Foundation’s Tindall Athlete Development Programme.

“I’d only raced at Snetterton once before, earlier in the year, and it was my slowest race of the season. But this time I really enjoyed it and I was only about 0.8 seconds off our fastest driver on the lap times. I think the team were happy.

“I was quite relaxed though there were a few butterflies while I was waiting for my drive. But, as soon as you’re in the car, you forget any nerves and you just focus on the race.

“It was a great track to learn about the car and to drive it. At the end, I was given the Driver of the Day award which was a nice surprise and a great way to finish the season.”
