BRITCAR CHAMPIONSHIP SUPPORTS FOUNDATION IN NEW SEASON
The Matt Hampson Foundation is delighted to be selected as charity of the year by the Britcar Championship, home of endurance motorsport in the UK.
Britcar enters an exciting new era in 2025 with the British Endurance Championship and Britcar Trophy coming together to form a single season-long championship. This will feature six competitor classes across eight rounds at major UK circuits, starting at Silverstone on 5th April.
The Matt Hampson Foundation provides physical and emotional support and inspiration for young people after life-changing injury in sporting activity. Its work has touched hundreds of lives from many sporting backgrounds, including motorsport where a number of beneficiaries remain active and competitive following injury.
Claire Hedley, managing director of Britcar Endurance Limited, said: “Britcar are extremely pleased to be supporting the Matt Hampson Foundation as our official Charity of the Year for 2025.
“The support and guidance the Foundation gives to young people as they face life-changing injuries is truly inspiring.”
Marking 20 years since the sporting accident which changed his life and its impact on others, in 2025 Matt has big plans to extend the Foundation’s Get Busy Living Centre and develop regional satellite hubs to reach even more beneficiaries.
Matt said: “We are absolutely delighted to be selected as the Britcar Championship’s chosen charity, especially as this is a landmark year for both the Foundation and the Championship.
“The Foundation was created to provide somewhere to turn for support for any young person following life-changing injury as well as for their family and friends, and to help provide the skills, confidence and opportunities to ‘get busy living’.
“We are very grateful for the Britcar Championship’s support and will be following the action closely during 2025. We wish all the teams and drivers well for the year ahead.”
