MATT MAKES APPEAL ON NATIONAL RADIO
The Matt Hampson Foundation has been selected for a national appeal on BBC Radio 4, raising awareness and funds for its work with young people following life-changing injury.
No one can prepare for the impact of injury, but the Foundation provides somewhere to turn for physical and emotional support.
Matt experienced his own life-changing injury as a young professional rugby player in 2005 and is the driving force behind the Foundation and its Get Busy Living Centre near Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire as well as being a mentor, inspiration and friend to beneficiaries and the team working with them.
Building a sense of community is central to the Foundation, allowing beneficiaries to draw on the experience and knowledge of others who have been on a similar journey as they develop the skills they need to move on, to rebuild their lives and retrain themselves to focus on what they can do – not what they can’t.
Help us to support young people following life-changing injury through sport
Matt will deliver the Foundation’s appeal on BBC Radio 4 personally, talking about his own experience, how he decided to ‘get busy living’ again by supporting others and will also share the story of a beneficiary.
There will be a Foundation page on the BBC Radio 4 Appeal website with full details including how to make a donation and a dedicated page within the Foundation’s own website for more details.
Every penny in donations will go towards supporting beneficiaries and the people closest to them as they learn how to ‘get busy living’ again.
The Foundation changes lives on a daily basis, providing physical and emotional support at its Get Busy Living Centre with expert physiotherapy, personal training, wellbeing and practical advice, creating opportunities to show what is possible after life-changing injury and that there is an exciting and fulfilling life out there.
