GET BUSY LIVING ROWING MARATHON WITH ATLANTIC CHALLENGE DUO

A father-and-son duo training to cross the Atlantic are inviting teams and individuals to join them in a 24-hour rowing marathon at the Matt Hampson Foundation’s Get Busy Living Centre on 21st-22nd February.

The row-athon is being organised in support of the Foundation’s work with young people following life-changing injury by long-term supporters Greg and Elliot Collins who are preparing for The Toughest Row across 3,000 miles of the Atlantic in December.

As part of their training as well as their fundraising, they are committed to a continuous 24 hours on a rowing machine at the Get Busy Living Centre near Melton Mowbray, starting at noon on Friday 21st February until noon the following day.

The Foundation is also inviting anyone who wants to join them, for however long you wish, to come and have a go too, providing some competition as well as motivation, for any time during the 24 hours either on their own or as part of a group. If you can raise some sponsorship or a donation to the Foundation, that would be brilliant too!

For details and to find out how to join on the day, email abbie@hambo.co.uk or  ciara@hambo.co.uk

Or if participation is not for you this time, you can support Greg and Elliot through their fundraising page here. Thank you.

Greg and Elliot will have their Atlantic boat with them – complete with Foundation branding – for visitors to see before The Toughest Row, starting from La Gomera in the Canary Islands and finishing in Antigua. Teams battle with physical exertion, sleep deprivation, the ocean and the weather in an incredible challenge which will include more than one-and-a-half million oar strokes and more than a month at sea.

The Matt Hampson Foundation provides physical and emotional support for young people following life-changing injury in sport. As 2025 marks 20 years since Matt’s accident while training with the England Under-21 rugby squad, he has big plans to extend the Get Busy Living Centre to support more beneficiaries and their families as well as developing regional satellite hubs to take support even further.
