REPORT HIGHLIGHTS WHAT FOUNDATION MEANS TO BENEFICIARIES
See what the Matt Hampson Foundation means to its beneficiaries following life-changing injury by checking out the charity’s new Impact Report now.
The Impact Report includes details of the charity’s work, including delivery of more than 4,000 physiotherapy, personal training and wellbeing sessions during the year at its Get Busy Living Centre near Melton Mowbray.
But it is the words of the people most affected by that work which carry the most weight. See them now in the new report by clicking here.
“Our beneficiaries are doing amazing things and there is so much to celebrate in seeing young people ‘get busy living’ after life-changing injury,” writes Matt Hampson OBE in the annual report.
“Life-changing injury has a ripple effect among family, friends, partners, colleagues and team-mates, too, which is why we reach out to not only beneficiaries but also the people closest to them. It is one of the things that makes our Foundation so special.
“As we say to beneficiaries, we will be there for them all the way.”
Matt and the team see how beneficiaries ‘get busy living’ every day in adapting to a new life after injury, or returning to work, education or physical activities as diverse as adaptive fitness, canoeing, golf, athletics, climbing and motorsport.
Matt created the Foundation following his own life-changing injury as he set out on a career in professional rugby and celebrates its 15th anniversary in 2026 having touched the lives of hundreds of beneficiaries and the people closest to them.

This is already shaping up to be another notable year with the conclusion of The Biggest Row across the Atlantic in January, spectacular annual Rugby Dinner at Evolution London in February and build-up to Matt’s London Marathon debut in April alongside the extension to facilities at the Get Busy Living Centre and continued development of a regional network to support even more beneficiaries.
Thanking the Foundation’s supporters for the crucial role they play in changing young lives, Matt said: “None of this would be possible without our Foundation Family. Adding to our facilities and our hubs network means increasing fundraising to provide the specialist staff and equipment our beneficiaries deserve and we have plans for some exciting new events and projects too.”
