HANDS ON THE WHEEL REVEAL

A documentary following five members of the Matt Hampson Foundation’s northern hub at Gym Possible has had its premiere showing in Newcastle.

Gym Possible has accessible facilities in Newcastle and Gateshead, and was created by athlete Drew Graham, a Foundation beneficiary following spinal injury while working in the USA.

In Hands on the Wheel, Gym Possible tell the story of a journey of resilience, reinvention and community.

It was shown for the first time in an event at Gosforth Civic Theatre which included a question-and-answer session with its stars and film-maker Dan Prince from Local Heroes.

“The film is really authentic and a good look at real people,” said Drew who earlier this year shared in a world record by his team at the Great North Run.

“Everyone has a different story and the community of Gym Possible is just as important as the exercise part of it. That is what keeps me going into work every day.”
