WILL RUDKIN

There was never any doubt that the first of Will’s goals in his rehabilitation after injury was to return to work on the family farm.

“Dad has a friend who has been in a wheelchair for 27 or 28 years and is still farming so that was something to think about and getting back in the tractor was always something I was going to,” says Will whose family have been farming for generations.

“Now I’ve got a new tractor with a different gearbox so I can drive it and there’s always work to be done on a dairy farm with 600 cows and 500 sheep. If they’re milking, they’re in at 4am, if not it is 8am, but there’s always jobs to do around the place. I love it.”

Will is a regular visitor to the Get Busy Living Centre where he has also adapted to being part of a new community.

“I’m also generally a quiet person, but I see people when I come to the gym and you talk about what you’re doing, how things are,” he says.

“Then the physios go through what you need to do, they work with you and for me it is then about working towards your targets.”
