CRAIG HAVLOCK
Craig Havlock experienced national success in motorcycle racing before an accident on the racetrack in December 2022 and, while his circumstances have changed, his focus and drive remain as strong as ever.
“I’d had motorbikes from an early age, it was all about road bikes until I got into track days and then racing,” says Craig. “I did endurance racing and then had a solo season when I won a championship and that was going to be my progression into racing before my accident. It was just a crash on a track in Spain – I’d crashed before, and faster, but this was different.

“After hearing about the Foundation on an off-chance, my parents came to see what it was all about while I was in hospital and my mum just said ‘You’re going to love it, it is right up your street’. I was as nervous as anything at the start, but you get more confident with all the support here and the camaraderie is great – you can be with your friends in the pub, but I’m the only one in a chair, so those conversations with people on a similar journey or with similar experiences are very important too.”
From experience gained at the Foundation, Craig identifies adapted downhill mountain biking as an answer to his “obsession with speed” while also investigating his next career move.
“I’m a qualified electrician but I’m looking to see what’s next,” he says. “I’d love to find a career, not just a job. I’m driving again, I have more independence again and I’m looking at it as the next step in life.”
“I was as nervous as anything at the start, but you get more confident with all the support here and the camaraderie is great.”
