FOUNDATION SHARES IN CHELTENHAM RACING SPOTLIGHT
Cheltenham Racecourse hosted Matt Hampson and the race named in honour of his Foundation as part of its April meeting this week.
Matt was joined by Foundation chief executive Tommy Cawston and beneficiary Graham Lee, the 2004 Grand National-winning jockey, as well as 20-time champion jockey Sir AP McCoy during Wednesday afternoon’s racing programme which featured the Matt Hampson Foundation Silver Trophy Handicap Chase (Grade 2 Limited Handicap).
With each of the horses carrying a Matt Hampson Foundation logo, the race victory on a sunny Spring day went to Riskintheground, a 15/2 shot under jockey Harry Skelton in front of the ITV Racing cameras.
The Foundation sends it thanks to James Richardson and Stuart Tilly, Luke Munro of AQ Construction and to everyone at Cheltenham Racecourse and the Jockey Club for helping to make it such an enjoyable day.
