FOUNDATION DELIGHTED TO EXTEND LINK WITH EUROPCAR

Following a highly successful first year working together, Europcar have announced a partnership renewal with the Matt Hampson Foundation for 2025.

The Mercedes Sprinter van donated by Europcar to the Foundation has already covered more than 12,000 miles and will continue to provide essential logistical support for the charity’s events and day-to-day operations.

The co-branded long wheelbase van has helped the Foundation transfer materials to fundraising and awareness events throughout the year, including the 100-mile Walk4Matt, the UK’s first adaptive cross-fit event exclusively for wheelchair users and the London Marathon. It has also been invaluable in moving equipment including a Paragolfer buggy which provides mobility on golf courses.

In 2025, Europcar will also be supporting team building days at the Foundation’s Get Busy Living Centre as well as offering premium rates for beneficiaries’ friends and families. They will also make a donation for every vehicle rental booking made using the supporter rate.

“The work of the Matt Hampson Foundation is inspirational and we are delighted to be able to continue helping with the logistics through the supply of our vehicle”, said Europcar managing director Gary Smith.

“As a busy organisation committed to helping people who have suffered life-changing injuries to carry on living full lives, access to a suitable vehicle is critical. With its co-branding, the van not only helps with day-to-day mobility but also raises awareness of the Foundation’s work wherever it goes.”

Matt Hampson OBE, who created the Foundation, said: “Europcar has become a valued partner of the Foundation. As well as allowing us to direct more of our funding into helping beneficiaries, the kind donation of the van means we can help young people who are getting busy living after life-changing injury. It enables us to move equipment where people need it most as well as support fundraising and awareness events all over the country.”

The Foundation organises beneficiary experience days as part of its ‘Get Busy Living’ ethos to provide opportunities after life-changing injury. These include water-skiing, go-karting and adaptable mountain bikes, all of which require equipment to be transported to and from the Get Busy Living Centre in Leicestershire and which, without the Europcar van, would prove difficult. The van has also been vital for regular local deliveries and collections to support the work of the Centre as well as in getting equipment repaired. Previously such transport would have incurred courier costs but access to the Europcar van means the Foundation can spend more of its income on supporting its beneficiaries.
