EVERYONE ACTIVE NEW CHARITY PARTNER
Award-winning sports and leisure operator Everyone Active has announced the Matt Hampson Foundation as its new charity partner.
The partnership will involve a variety of fundraising and awareness campaigns designed to reach the people who can benefit from the charity’s specialist services as well as reflecting Everyone Active’s ongoing commitment to supporting physical and mental wellbeing, and improving access to physical activity for people living with disabilities or recovering from life-changing injury.
The one-year charity partnership aims to £50,000 in support of the Foundation’s work with young people following life-changing injury and the specialist rehabilitation services at its Get Busy Living Centre in Leicestershire.
Everyone Active will also use its reach to raise awareness of the Foundation’s work and highlight the important role that physical activity can play in supporting physical and mental wellbeing following a life-changing injury.
Brilliant work
The 2025 Disability Price Tag survey by Scope reports that disabled households need an additional £1,095 a month on average to have the same standard of living as non-disabled households.
Jacqui Tillman, Everyone Active’s Aquatics and Wellbeing Director and CEO of the SLM Community Leisure Charitable Trust, said: “We’re proud to announce the Matt Hampson Foundation as our new charity partner. We already have a close relationship and have seen first-hand the brilliant work it does to support people and communities affected by life-changing injuries.
“With more than 260 leisure and cultural facilities and over 16,500 colleagues across the country, we have a fantastic platform to bring people together through fundraising, awareness campaigns and community activities.
Exciting and fulfilling
“We’re excited to work closely with the Foundation to raise vital funds, highlight the importance of physical activity for physical and mental wellbeing, and help more people access opportunities to be active.”
Matt Hampson OBE, who created the Foundation as a charity to support others after experiencing his own life-changing injury as a young professional rugby player, said: “We are looking forward to working closely with Everyone Active to help amplify our message that it is possible to have exciting and fulfilling lives even after serious injury and that we provide somewhere to turn for support.
“We say to our beneficiaries that is important to ‘get busy living’ and it is a message that will resonate with Everyone Active’s team and the visitors to their facilities.”
