DEDICATED PAGE TO CELEBRATE LIONS TOUR CONNECTION
The British & Irish Lions have landed in Australia and, as an Official Charity Partner, there is now a dedicated page on the Matt Hampson Foundation website with news and updates from the tour.
Created by former Leicester Tigers and England Under-21s rugby player Matt Hampson to support and inspire young people following life-changing injury in sport, the Foundation is celebrating selection as a charity partner of the tour which features a Test match series against the Wallabies.
“The British & Irish Lions stands for so much that is good about the game of rugby and their values of Respect, Unity, Integrity and Friendship reflect how our Foundation brings people together in a special and supportive community,” said Matt.
The Foundation kicked off its own series of events with a Lions Long Lunch at the Grand Hotel in Birmingham, attended by former tour captain Finlay Calder and fellow Lions players Peter Wheeler, Dean Richards, Dusty Hare, Graham Rowntree and Tom Croft, before Matt travelled to Dublin for the curtain-raiser fixture against Argentina.
The Lions squad includes Foundation ambassador Ollie Chessum of Leicester Tigers and England.
Look out for updates on the website, including exclusive regular blogs from Foundation friends during the tour alongside news of an amazing fundraising auction of rugby memorabilia.
