BARRATT REDROW SUPPORT FOR CROSSFIT GAMES HOPES

The adaptive CrossFit community gets stronger every year and now we’re just weeks away from the Adaptive CrossFit Games.

This is the largest adaptive competition in the world, hosted by WheelWOD in Las Vegas, and brings together more than 300 athletes to battle for the title of Fittest on Earth.

Among them is Sophie Wilson, a proud beneficiary and Head of Operations of the Matt Hampson Foundation.

Sophie made her CrossFit Games debut last year, where she claimed a silver medal. This year, she returns to Las Vegas with her sights set firmly on the podium again, with support for the trip from Barratt Redrow, the country’s largest homebuilder.

Reflecting on her journey, Sophie said: “Barratt Redrow’s ongoing support allows me to compete on the world stage, raise awareness, inspire future generations and proudly carry the GB flag wherever I go. In a sport where funding is still virtually non-existent, their backing makes all the difference. Without them, I simply wouldn’t be able to pursue this dream, and for that, I am truly grateful.”

CrossFit is built on pushing athletes beyond their comfort zones. With constantly varied movements, intensities and time limits, it prepares competitors for the “unknown and unknowable” whether that’s a heavy lift, a gruelling endurance test or a relentless combination of both. The training is demanding, requiring not only physical strength but also extraordinary resilience and willpower.

Coverage of the Adaptive CrossFit Games (12th-14th September) is streamed online. See www.wheelwodgames.com for details.
