CHIEF EXECUTIVE: REVIEW OF YEAR SO FAR
The halfway point of 2026 provides a perfect opportunity to reflect on everything we’ve achieved together so far this year.
Looking back, it’s hard to believe it’s been almost 10 years since we started building the Get Busy Living Centre. What began as an ambitious vision has grown into a place that has transformed hundreds of lives, and now we’re entering another exciting chapter with work underway on our extension.
Over the past few weeks, Rockwell have been on site and over the coming months we’ll see our new facilities take shape. The extension will allow us to support more beneficiaries than ever before, with additional specialist gym space, new offices and a welcoming social area where visitors can connect, recover and thrive.
A huge thank-you must also go to T P Bennett, who have played a crucial role in helping bring this vision to life. Their support, expertise and commitment during the planning and design of the extension have been invaluable and we’re incredibly grateful for everything they’ve done to help us create a space that will benefit so many people in the years ahead.
Inspiring
We’re incredibly proud of the unique support the Foundation provides. Alongside world-class physiotherapy, specialist strength and conditioning, personal training, counselling and yoga, it’s the peer support, mentoring and sense of community that make our approach so special. Together, these services help people to rebuild confidence and truly get busy living after life-changing injuries.
We’ve welcomed many new beneficiaries over the past six months, and it’s been inspiring to see the progress they’re making with the support of our fantastic team.
It’s also been an incredible period for fundraising and awareness. Our Six Nations Dinner was another huge success, followed by Mike Tindall’s Golf Day and our Corporate Games, all of which brought together supporters, partners and beneficiaries while raising vital funds for the Foundation.
One of the standout moments of the year was undoubtedly Matt’s London Marathon challenge. Watching Matt train with such determination in all conditions was inspiring and seeing him receive the recognition he richly deserved on the day was very special. With more than 20 runners representing the Foundation, it was a day full of emotion while raising significant awareness and funds that have provided real momentum for the year ahead.
Outstanding
More recently, our Chamonix trip created memories that will last a lifetime. Taking beneficiaries, supporters and staff into the mountains of the Alps was about so much more than completing a challenge. Spending time with beneficiaries like Jack and Louis reminded me exactly why we do what we do. Those shared experiences, friendships and conversations are what make this Foundation unique. Bringing together beneficiaries, supporters and our amazing team creates a powerful community which sits at the heart of everything we do.
Looking ahead, our extension project will remain a major focus for the rest of the year. By the end of 2026, we hope to have outstanding new gym spaces, modern offices and an enhanced social hub that will allow us to support even more people for years to come.
None of this would be possible without your continued support. Whether you’ve donated, fundraised, volunteered, attended an event or simply helped to spread the word, thank you. Your support changes lives every single day.
If you’ve never visited the Get Busy Living Centre, we’d love to welcome you. As we continue to grow, we hope you’ll stay with us on this journey. We have ambitious plans for the future and with your continued support we can help even more people rebuild their confidence, achieve their goals and, most importantly, ‘get busy living’.
