ALISON GOES ‘ABOVE AND BEYOND’ IN SUPPORTING FOUNDATION
Alison Short has been recognised for the impact she has on other beneficiaries at the Matt Hampson Foundation.
This year’s recipient of the Above and Beyond Award at the Foundation’s annual prize-giving, Alison is seen as someone who goes out of their way to support the charity, raising awareness and doing what they can to help. She has completed numerous physical challenges to help raise funds and is also known for her support of fellow beneficiaries.
Matt Hampson, who created the Foundation to help other young people seriously injured through sport, said: “Alison has had a massive impact on people – she offers so much support to so many of the beneficiaries. She is just great to be around.”
Alison’s year has included flying the Foundation flag on Snowdon, the Great North Run, various triathlons and completing the 100 miles of Walk4Matt where her bucket collection added a considerable amount to the overall fundraising total.
Foundation physiotherapy lead Tilly Cumming commented: “I don’t think I’ve met anyone as passionate and as driven as Alison. She is very supportive of all the other beneficiaries.”
