MARATHON MESSAGE OF THANKS FROM MATT
Matt Hampson has sent a message of thanks to everyone who supported his London Marathon challenge and the fundraising for his Foundation which helps young people following life-changing injury.
Matt completed the 26-mile course with his support runners and legendary jockey Sir AP McCoy as part of a 24-strong team from the Foundation in his marathon debut.
Fundraising by the team has passed the £200,000 mark.
A message from Matt
“Taking part in the London Marathon from my chair, pushed by such an incredible team, is something I’ll never be able to fully put into words.
I feel deeply honoured – and honestly quite overwhelmed – to have experienced it alongside people who gave their strength, time and heart so selflessly.
There were moments along the route that will stay with me forever – the cheers from the crowds, the connection with complete strangers and the quiet, powerful teamwork between us that carried me every single mile. It was humbling in the truest sense.
Being part of a team of 24 participants doing this for the Matt Hampson Foundation made it even more meaningful. Knowing that our journey helped raise vital funds and awareness for a cause that changes lives made every moment so much bigger than the race itself.
To everyone who donated, shared our story, or supported us along the way – thank you.
You were part of every mile, and I felt that all the way to the finish.”
